Please, take my advice; I’m not using it

If you find yourself excessively sweating, trim your underarm hair. Deodorant isn’t as effective when it’s lubricating your armpit forest instead of absorbing into the skin preventing perspiration. Trust.

Try not to use the phrases “I can’t” or “I don’t have time”. Come to terms with what you’re really saying; “That’s not a priority for me right now”. Whether it’s eating healthy, quitting smoking, sleeping earlier, whatever. All of these things are possible. You COULD do all those things that you want to do. You’d just rather do something else more.

Don’t take criticism from people you wouldn’t take advice from.

I’d recommend curating a “checklist” of 3–4 trusted friends&family. If they don’t think you’re too nuts, keep doing whatever the fuck you want to do.

Acknowledge opportunity cost; disregard sunk cost.

Opportunity cost is what you’re spending when you do a thing today. Instead of all the other things, you did this thing.

Sunk cost is time & money you’ve already used. You can’t get it back, but you can choose to do something different with the time you have left.

“Money circulates; time is spent”.

A great job has 3 things;

  1. Good money
  2. Opportunity for growth (you’re learning)
  3. Fun.

If you don’t have at least one, find a new gig.

Two’s not bad.

If you’ve got all three, congratulations you’ve won!

Not discussing your salary openly only benefits your employer. Talk about it. Who cares if someone’s getting a grand more a month. The more information you know about your colleagues wages, the better the environment for all to negotiate moving forwards; whether it’s at this job or the next one.

If you find yourself going through a period of general malaise without a root cause, try the below for a minimum of one week.

  1. Your weight/2. Drink that much water in ounces, every day.
    *Europeans* — Drink your weight x 33 in millilitres , every day
  2. Take a Vitamin-D supplement, every day.
  3. Call someone you like to talk to for a minimum of 10 minutes, every day.

Effectively everyone I know goes through occasional periods of intense self-doubt and spiritual unfulfillment. This is natural and all okay. Adulthood is best described as a modern “The Emperor’s New Clothes” fable. We’re all naked & noone really has a clue.

When dealing with complex or deep emotions, use simple language.

The #1 method to improve the quality of your sex life is to become more comfortable creating an open environment to share you & your partners desires with each other. Much like you know what you like best, most of your potential cuddle buddies will know themselves better than anyone else would. Talk about “it”. Communicate.
Then dooo it like they do on the discovery channel ♫♫♫ .

Wear your watch on the hand you don’t wipe your ass with.

You could always have more money and larger equipment.
You’ll have to be happy anyway.

“suffering is a gas; it expands to fill its container.”

Don’t discount your own struggles. Pain feels the same regardless of cause. It’s okay to be hurting, and you don’t have to be ashamed if the reason isn’t as serious as someone else’s.

For various reasons, I think you should remember the names and know the stories of Ernest Shackleton, Daphne Caruana Galizia, Irena Sendler & Aitizaz Hasan.

I’ve never been disappointed by someone who knew the name of the baristas at their favorite coffee shop.

The universe is conspiring to give you what you want.

Be kind.

& to summarize;

You don’t need to do something with your life.

Just do something with your day.
